MACECOM 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Officer (Lateral) - Shelton WA


About the Position: MACECOM’s 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Agency is staffed by public safety professionals who are trained to answer 911 and non-emergency telephone calls, as well as dispatch police, fire and medical resources. The 911 team works in partnership with Shelton Police, Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Squaxin Tribal Police, Skokomish Public Safety and Mason County Fire Districts/EMS Services, to ensure the safety and quality of life and property.

Recruiting and Hiring Process


Due to the confidential nature and demands of our positions, candidates must possess an exemplary personal history and have integrity beyond reproach.


- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have previous 9-1-1 call taker, dispatch or Reserve experience-Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and widely varying hours during and after training.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check


The testing process is extensive and may take a considerable amount of time to complete. As you progress through the hiring process, you will be provided the timeline and schedule for tasks to be completed.
