MACECOM Reserve Academy Description

COMMUNICATIONS RESERVE OFFICER (9-1-1 Dispatcher)
Academy Summary: MACECOM is recruiting Dispatch Reserve Academy Officers. Eligible candidates will successfully complete all portions of the assessment process and will be placed on an eligibility list that will be used to fill the academy class positions.

Reserves answer 9-1-1 and other emergency and non emergency telephone systems in a multi-jurisdictional dispatch center. They also perform radio dispatch of operational and emergency police, fire, and medical calls for assistance, which involve performing a wide variety of computer transactions and records functions. Note: This academy requires the completion of in classroom and on the floor training with the completion of 4 certification levels.

Salary & Benefits: This is a volunteer non paid position.

Experience and Training Requirements:
~ Two years of experience working with the public in a high-volume, customer-service environment where you provided detailed information and assisted with solving problem preferred. (9-1-1 dispatch experience is not required.)
~ Proficient and accurate keyboard skills of 45 - wpm is preferred.
~ Basic familiarity with personal computer and Windows based applications.
~ Successful applicants must pass background investigation, psychological exams, pre-employment drug screen, and skills testing prior to academy.

Other necessary requirements:
~ Work requires a normal range of hearing, speaking ability, and vision.
~ Employee may be subject to report to the Communications Center on short notice during emergency situations.

RESERVE ACADEMY

If you are chosen by MACECOM, you will be required to establish your identity and authority to work in the United States, as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
